Plugged In and Happy

"Kelvin was very, very polite and very responsive in his communications. He installed a hardwired ChargePoint charger and a floodlight camera and cleaned up the installation area in 3 hours. He even was willing to answer and take a look at an unrelated electrical issue we have in the house. I highly recommend Kelvin (Sand and Sun Electrical) for his professionalism and quality of work!"

"We hired Kelvin to install a Tesla charging port based on a rave review from my sister. He exceeded all of our expectations — he is beyond professional — smart, polite, fair and a problem solver. He made sure that his work site was pristine and that we understood how to use our equipment before leaving. Outstanding service in every way! I would hire Sand and Sun Electrical again for any household project."

Your EV Is One of the Biggest Loads in Your Home

A Level 2 charger can pull 32 to 48 amps for hours at a time, night after night. Few things in a home work a circuit that hard — which is why the circuit behind your charger matters as much as the charger itself.

  • Hardwired or plug-in, done right. A hardwired charger connects straight to its own circuit. A plug-in charger needs a heavy-duty 14-50 outlet on a dedicated circuit. We install both.
  • Sized for continuous charging. Electrical code treats EV charging as a continuous load, so the wire and breaker are sized with extra headroom — 125% of the charger’s rating.
  • No worn or bargain outlets. A loose or low-quality outlet can overheat under hours of charging. If you plug in, it should be a quality outlet installed for the job.
  • Your panel, checked first. Before anything goes on the wall, Kelvin confirms your panel can handle the new load.

From Panel Photo to Plugged In

Most home installs start with a photo and end the same day.

Send a photo of your panel

Text the square footage of your home and a photo of your panel open, so Kelvin can see the breaker sizes and labels.

Get a clear quote

Mounting directly behind the panel is $500. If the charger goes farther away, we measure the distance and give you an accurate quote.

Installation

When the charger mounts directly behind the panel, the install takes about an hour.

Test and walkthrough

We test the charger, clean up the work area and make sure you know how to use it before we leave.
