Skip the Costly Service Upgrade

You might be told you need a costly, time-consuming utility service upgrade — but with SPAN, you can often avoid it altogether. SPAN intelligently manages your home’s existing electrical capacity, so you can add Level 2, dynamic EV charging without waiting months or spending thousands.

  • SPAN Drive is a Level 2 EV charger that partners with your home for a dynamic, optimized charging experience.
  • Max-optimal charging speeds. It increases charging power when the home is idle and reduces it when the home is active.
  • Level 2 charging without an upgrade. Many homes need an expensive electrical service upgrade for a Level 2 charger. That’s never required with SPAN Drive.

Your SPAN Authorized Installer in the West Valley

SPAN installation requires an authorized installer. When you hire Sand and Sun, you’re working directly with the master electrician who owns the business. SPAN requires an external surge protection device with every SPAN Panel — something Kelvin already recommends for every home.

“SPAN makes the most sense if you have or plan to add solar, a battery, or an EV charger. If you just need a straight panel swap with no plans for solar or battery, a standard panel does the job for less money.”

SPAN Panel FAQ

A SPAN panel is a smart electrical panel that replaces your home’s traditional breaker box. It monitors and controls every circuit individually through an app — so you get live energy data and can turn any circuit on or off remotely. SPAN makes the most sense if you have or plan to add solar, a battery, or an EV charger. It extends battery backup by intelligently shedding non-essential loads during outages and lets you prioritize which rooms stay powered on the fly. If you just need a straight panel swap with no plans for solar or battery, a standard panel does the job for less money. SPAN installation requires a certified installer — and we’re SPAN-certified.

Depending on the distance and number of circuits, it’s usually done within a day!

Yes, I recommend adding a surge protector to any home that wants to keep their appliances and electronics safe from damage related to lightning strikes!

No, we do not purchase the SPAN panel, Powerwall 3, or the EV chargers. This is the client’s responsibility. We handle all the installation work.

Just call or text me — I’ll ask a few questions about your project and we’ll set up a time for me to take a look. For most jobs, a few photos of your panel and your address are enough to get started. For larger projects like SPAN panel installations, I’ll typically recommend a brief in-person site visit to confirm code requirements and service capacity. Information is free — you’ll get an honest assessment and a clear quote before any work starts.
